llama journal: We did it for REAL! + real actual llamas!! + b
I learned about five weeks ago that the kitchen where I work is going to close. Sucks for me (I'm downplaying my sadness hardcore with that line). Anyway, I usually get really self-destructive if I'm not working so I have to do something to keep me occupied until I am at a new kitchen, so I decided to, as Ira Glass says (simplified of course), "amass a large body of work". That means one story a day, 500 words or more. I choose, in advance, one word prompts/themes to tackle with 12 of my various characters, chosen with a randomizer app. I've been doing this daily, aside from the one day I came home from work and fell asleep with my clothes on. Nobody's perfect.
Anyway
In the 22 days so far, I've written 21 stories, some of which are nothing, others are seeds to something bigger, including a Nina/Mack crossover that will probably be written next April or July. I don't do 50k when 30k will suffice.
Here's an example of who she is: Jake the Blintz
And Mack: Clean
it's already getting ugly. just the way I like it.
also, a couple of Camp Nanos ago I wrote my first fantasy piece, a demon named Valerie who just wanted to find love on this planet. i realized too late how frickin' boring she is and how much more interesting her rival, Claudia, is. i plan on revisiting this demon Nano sometime soon and odds are it will be my first attempt at real publication. Until then, the stories I write about Claudia (because F Valerie, she's too "good" and what demon is good) are just straight up nihilistic demon murder and craziness that I can't pull off with Nina or my other lost-mind character, Sally. I'd post them but why.
There is a contest coming within the next two weeks to promote the anthology to get that llama to a family in need. It will be open to everyone at deviantART, not just the folks in the lit community. Tell a friend
my IntelligentZombie girl herre did the thing to get the llama thing. u should, too

updates
1. We raised a total of about $125 for the llama (my folks threw in the last $25), which has been purchased and will be sent to a family in need of one. Thanks you guys, mission accomplished. :-)
2. I have received no stories for the contest, which was not totally unexpected (Nano and holidays). So be it. The llama still happened.
3. That is all
up to 119.00 for llama fund
only about $30 to go before we hit the cost for the llama. that's only 10 more copies. this should be easy as pie. or cake... i know the lit community still likes that debate ;-)
CALL FOR CONTEST ENTRIES -- write a story and win a copy of the anthology :-)
we don't have much time left, let's spread the word that all proceeds from the sale of this book of stories from dA writers will go toward buying a llama for a family in need.. info in original journal --> We did it for REAL! + real actual llamas!! + b
i got another job so i guess i'll be around as much as i can for a minute

sweetie darling sugar pie.
you've been here seven months. i know why you blocked me, it's okay. new writers don't like me. ever. because i tell them things they never want to hear. like
YOU HAVE TO DO THE FUCKING WORK AND IF YOU DON'T, YOU'RE LAZY.
i hope you try to get published someday because you will look back and realize i was the nicest person you ever met.
i hope to see you defend yourself in these comments and link me back to

That is a serious fucking bummer about the kitchen, and it does not surprise me that you're powering through it. Demons and shit are awesome. I approve of that. Love you, sister.
