... that you fuckers won't listen to.

#14 much? how about #20? and oh christ #4. wanting to know how get published seems to come up more than wanting to know how to write.
i don't agree with him 100% about #36, though. without a character, there is no story. but without a character doing something, it's just some asshole sitting around waiting for his number to be called. they're 50-50 equal. character is not everything. what that character does is everything. how that character reacts to the shit that happens to him is everything. otherwise why not read a character sheet. do you want to read a character sheet? do those get published? no. stories do. come on.
i don't think outside of maybe five people in the lit community here understand what writing really is. everyone else is faffing about thinking they're cute. chuck, as salty as he is, is right. i think the romanticized notions about writing are embraced too much here and the work, which is actually is, falls to the wayside. too many people think it's supposed to be easy and when they realize it isn't, they start to kick up with dumb shit and make this place look like a joke.
why not be serious about something you claim to love doing? why not take it seriously? why treat something you love like a joke? is it a fear of failure or a fear of success? whatever it is, either stop being afraid and take the wheel or get out of the car.

updates
1. We raised a total of about $125 for the llama (my folks threw in the last $25), which has been purchased and will be sent to a family in need of one. Thanks you guys, mission accomplished. :-)
2. I have received no stories for the contest, which was not totally unexpected (Nano and holidays). So be it. The llama still happened.
3. That is all
up to 119.00 for llama fund
only about $30 to go before we hit the cost for the llama. that's only 10 more copies. this should be easy as pie. or cake... i know the lit community still likes that debate ;-)
CALL FOR CONTEST ENTRIES -- write a story and win a copy of the anthology :-)
we don't have much time left, let's spread the word that all proceeds from the sale of this book of stories from dA writers will go toward buying a llama for a family in need.. info in original journal --> We did it for REAL! + real actual llamas!! + b
i got another job so i guess i'll be around as much as i can for a minute

you've been here seven months. i know why you blocked me, it's okay. new writers don't like me. ever. because i tell them things they never want to hear. like
YOU HAVE TO DO THE FUCKING WORK AND IF YOU DON'T, YOU'RE LAZY.
i hope you try to get published someday because you will look back and realize i was the nicest person you ever met.
i hope to see you defend yourself in these comments and link me back to
